Figures

Born again

There are prisons that exist within us, built from painful memories, cruel thoughts, and the belief that we are somehow unworthy. Trauma and depression can make those walls feel impossible to cross. Over time, suffering can become so familiar that we struggle to imagine who we might be beyond it. These three images follow a woman’s journey from captivity to release and finally to peace. Her surroundings give form to an inner experience: the pain of feeling trapped, the struggle to break free, and the possibility of a life no longer governed by what has hurt us. Together, they express the hope that even after prolonged darkness, we can find our way toward light.
